CCHASM Launches “Feed-A-Family” Monthly Giving Program with Support from Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation

RICHMOND, VA – (Wednesday, December 17, 2025) – Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Alliance for Social Ministries (CCHASM) has launched Feed-A-Family, a monthly giving program designed to provide consistent, year-round food support to families across Central Virginia. As part of this effort, the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation has awarded CCHASM a Nourishing Our Neighbors grant, matching all new monthly gifts dollar-for-dollar up to $4,400.

“While the holidays bring increased attention to hunger, the need for food support continues year-round,” said Shelly Marin, Chief Executive Officer of CCHASM. “Monthly giving helps us plan ahead, maintain steady food access, and respond quickly when families face ongoing or unexpected crises. We are grateful to the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation for the opportunity to double our impact.”

Monthly donations help CCHASM provide consistent food assistance to households in Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Hopewell, Petersburg, and Prince George. Through Feed-A-Family, donors commit to a predictable level of support, allowing CCHASM to plan ahead, maintain partnerships with local food pantries, and respond more effectively to ongoing and emerging needs.

The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting families facing food insecurity across its 10-state footprint. Established in 2001, the Foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding local neighbors in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded nearly $23 million in grant funding to help nourish communities with fresh food.
